SolGCS
Certified Ground Control Station
The Sol Ground Control System is a proven ground system used by both commercial and military users.
The GCS is designed to easily integrate standard protocols, but also facilitate implementing custom protocols using a plug-in specification system.
The system is DO-254 and DO-178C DAL B certified. SolGCS is a ground control you can trust.
The ground system delivers powerful real-time control for UxVs while seamlessly managing entire fleets with precision. It combines advanced fleet coordination with intuitive control capabilities, enabling multiple pilots to collaborate effectively and adapt flexibly to mission needs in a unified and responsive system.
Fast Time To Market - Professional Setup
Plug & Play Control Rooms
Once your UAVs are flying, your pilot won't sit out in the field with a laptop. (S)he needs a professional environment to collaborate with colleagues on the operation of the drones.
SolGCS is designed in the format of a table of 100 cm wide and 60 cm deep, that can be bolted to the floor. Back to back rows of these tables come together into a rigid structure that can be placed in a building or inside a container.
Just supply 110/220V electricity and ethernet, and turn the power on to start controlling connected aircraft.
Fit For Military & Mobile Use
Rugged Mobility
Military users often require a mobile control center, and the SolGCS table setup is specifically designed to meet this need. It can be securely bolted to the floor and walls of a van or truck, ensuring all components remain rigidly fixed. This allows the off-the-shelf SolGCS system to be seamlessly mounted in the vehicle’s rear, transforming it into a fully functional mobile control center.
Connect the SolGCS to 4G/5G, Starlink, or another type of ethernet connection, and connect 24V power.
Prototype Usage
Standalone Desk
The SolGCS is fully self-sufficient. You can use a single desk as your ground control system, which allows you to get started early with limited investment.
Meanwhile, you know that you'll be able to scale up when necessary.
Intuitive Control
Immersive Visualisation
Expansive Situational Awareness on
43" 4K Touch Display
A 1-meter wide 4K display in front of you provides a wide immersive view of the navigation environment of your UAV and other assets nearby. It typically displays a top down map as navigation display, but can show other information as well, including live video feeds from the aircraft.
The touch interface provides an intuitive interface to select items for more information, or to control, or for other tasks.
Convenient UxV Control on
27" QHD Touch Display
It would not be convenient if you needed to keep your arms raised to the big screen for detailed management.
Like a large tablet, a 27" QHD touch display nearly flat on your desk provides you with detailed information about the item selected, allowing you to plan missions efficiently, or to control the UxV easily.
Physical Buttons
Sometimes there are actions that require a physical button for confirmation. A built-in set of buttons provide a certified interface to the SolGCS computers.
Space For Your Stuff
Real missions require literal paperwork, coffee and stuff. The desk leaves space free to make sure you can execute missions without paper in your lap.
Mission Control
Mission Monitoring
Mission monitoring requires that you have accurate and up to date information, presented in the right format.
SolGCS can display real cockpit views with PFD/ND and EICAS information systems, much like the cockpit of a real aircraft. It can also display live video from the drone.
Certified software tends to be slow, with update rates as low as 1 Hz in many cases, due to the restriction imposed on certified software, and sheer amount of information to process.
SolGCS is certified to the highest levels, and yet it provides a smooth and responsive user interface.
Mission Planning
SolGCS allows to plan missions by setting mission waypoints and payload waypoints in 3 dimensions. Missions can be validated, and upon confirmation seamlessly uploaded to the aircraft(s).
Real-Time Control
SolGCS allows to send direct commands to UxV for live control of the vehicle. Typical examples are landing spot (or target) acquisition, landing confirmation or firing authorization.
Joystick Control
Optionally, a joystick is provided for interactive real-time control. This is optional because in BVLOS UxV, the latency does not safely allow interactive control. In many UxV, autonomous modes are the norm.
Early Warning System
Optionally, mission plans and real-time control will be checked against vehicle constraints and terrain maps to verify they can be executed. This is particularly important for certified aircraft, where missions plans need to be evaluated against restricted fly zones, elevation maps, aircraft safety constraints, and other factors.
Multi UxV, Multi Pilots
Multiple UxV
Each SolGCS can monitor up to 1000 assets, and can control up to 64 UxV. Multiple SolGCSes can be combined to control larger fleets.
Multiple Pilots
Multiple pilots on different SolGCS stations can see the same drones and command them. This allows the team of pilots to work collaboratively. The GCS intelligence will notify of any conflicts and resolve them. Each aircraft requires only a single connection to the ground, even when multiple pilots are monitoring the aircraft.
Swarming & Intelligence
Centralized Intelligence & Swarming
SolGCS can provide swarming for up to 250 UAV at once.
For instance, you can select a number of aircraft, set a target waypoint, select aircraft separation and an arrival pattern, and SolGCS will automatically compute the optimal path for all aircraft, taking into account constraints such as no-fly zones, terrain, different flight times for different routes for the desired arrival pattern.
It is also possible to control loitering ammunition using SolGCS.
UxV Intelligence
SolGCS can work with UxV that make autonomous decisions and have their own local swarming logic.
Secure Auto-Detection
Using Dynamic Large UAV Fleets
SolGCS provides a secure and efficient method for an UxV to register its online status and availability for command operations from a certain location.
This capability is critical in military operations, where command centers must manage continuous missions involving the dynamic addition of new UxVs, and existing UxV are dropping out. It is equally valuable for large fleets, as it allows UxVs to be seamlessly integrated without the need for manual reconfiguration of the ground station, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted operations.
Extension Plug-Ins
Custom Communication Protocols
SolGCS has a plugin specification architecture that allows to add new communication protocols. So no matter which communication protocol you use, Sol1 can link it to the SolGCS by specifying a plug-in for it.
Custom UxV Icon
You can configure the icon to use for your UxV on navigation maps.
Custom Visualizations
The SolGCS plug-in specification architecture can be used to specify custom displays. For instance, your UAV may have a patient on board and you may want to display the medical data such as the heart beat and other medical metrics. Sol1 can create any visualisation you need by specifying a SolGCS plug-in.
